Latino Conservation Week activities and events are currently taking place in national parks across the country! From July 13 to 21, 2019, the National Park Service will participate in Latino Conservation Week, a nine-day celebration of Latino heritage, stewardship, and conservation. We invite Latino youth and families (and everyone) to visit local, state, and national parks to engage in recreational activities and learn more about the great outdoors. By participating, you are helping create the next generation of environmental stewards!

Visit the National Park Service events calendar or the official Latino Conservation Week website to find events in your area.

Six L.A.T.I.N.O. Ways To Celebrate Latino Conservation Week:

  • Learn more about the great outdoors through an event at your local park, such as hiking or water activities, and explore nature.
  • Attend an indoor event, like a film screening or ranger presentation to learn more about Latino relationships to public lands.
  • Team up with other Latinos in your community to help national parks through volunteer programs, like building or cleaning up trails.
  • Inspire others to act by participating in conservation advocacy or sharing the importance of Latino Conservation Week with family and friends.
  • Navigate to your park’s official social media platforms and share your Latino Conservation Week event with the Latino community.
  • Offer to host a Spanish-speaking volunteer event to reach more people in the Latino community, or lead your family and friends through the park on a bilingual adventure.

Remember to tell the world about your Latino Conservation Week story on social media by using the hashtags: #LCW2019 and #FindYourPark / #EncuentraTuParque.
