How can you become a Junior Ranger?

While Visiting the Park...

As of April 2026, the park is critically low in physical Junior Ranger books. We are asking each family to share a single book, but every child participating will receive a Junior Ranger badge.
The Grand Canyon Visitor Center is the only location with Junior Ranger books. We also encourage families to print and use the digital PDF version, which can be found below.

Come to one of the park's visitor centers, backcountry ranger stations, or Grand Canyon Conservancy bookstore to pick up a Grand Canyon Junior Ranger Activity book. Specialized books are available for the South Rim and Canyon Explorers.

The Grand Canyon Junior Ranger books are designed with place-based activities to be completed on a visit to the park. If you are visiting the South Rim and need a screen reader accessible or fillable PDF version of the South Rim Junior Ranger book, please download that here.

You must be in the park in order to receive a badge, and we cannot mail Junior Ranger books or badges.

 

How can you become a Virtual Junior Ranger?

If you are not able to visit Grand Canyon National Park, you can become a Virtual Junior Ranger at home! After completeing the activities for your age group, download your own Grand Canyon Junior Ranger Badge.
