Honouliuli National Historic Site is the location of what was once the largest and longest-run prisoner of war camp and incarceration site in the Hawaiian Islands during WWII. At its peak, it held 4,000 prisoners of war of Japanese, Korean, Okinawan, Italian, and Filipino descent as well as 400 American civilians, primarily of Japanese descent with some Europeans. Our mission is to share the many stories of injustice born of this complex time period in American history.
