Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument is located in present and traditional homeland of the Penobscot Nation. The monument is at the center of connecting watersheds and has diverse and extraordinary scenic resources and views that are accessible to visitors. Basic Information

Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument is a National Park Service unit located in northern Maine. Limited services and signage make visiting an adventure.
Operating hours, weather, and location information are found on the Basic Information page. Download the
area map and NPS App before your visit. Mobile phone and GPS coverage is spotty and unreliable. There are no services for water, food, or fuel within the monument boundaries. Sanitary facilities are limited to a few vault toilets. Visitor contact stations are operated from May to October.
