The Wayside: Home of Authors

Sunday, August 3, 2025
1:00 pm: Ranger Story Hour
2:00 pm to 4:00 pm: Open House

Join us at the Wayside: Home of Authors for our new Ranger Story Hour and Open House.

Elementary school-aged children and their parents are invited to enjoy a story read by a park ranger at 1:00 pm, followed by an interactive activity. This weekend's book is "The Big Tree" by Bruce Hiscock. After the story, children and their families are invited to stay for an activity where children can plant their very own sugar maple like the one featured in "The Big Tree."

The general public is welcome to explore the Wayside, including the kitchen pictured above, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

This event is co-sponsored by the Friends of Minute Man National Park

"A daring and Violent attempt:" The Bermuda Powder Raid

North Bridge Visitor Center
Thursday, August 14, 2025
2:00 pm

In the dead of night on August 14, 1775, Patriots in St. George, Bermuda, scaled the roof of a large storehouse containing hundreds of barrels of gunpowder. The Patriots opened a skylight, tossed a rope down inside, and slid into the darkness. They were aiming to secure a large quantity of powder desperately needed by the Continental Army outside of Boston, Massachusetts.

Join Park Ranger, Jarrad Fuoss, 250 years later as he explores the daring Bermuda Powder Raid with all the thrills of an action movie.
