Today the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail consists of five separate sections--over 60 miles--developed for hiking and horseback riding.
From time to time, there are trail closers because of unsafe conditions. Some closures are short term, others are for years.

The Rocky Springs Section of the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail is a little over 6 mile section located near Port Gibson, Mississippi.
The Potkopinu Section is 3 miles long and it is longest section of Old Natchez Trace in the park.
