NPS

The Office of Partnerships, Community Engagement, and Visitor Experience is the outward facing office of the National Capital Regional Office. We collaborate with partners and local leaders including communities, local governments, nonprofits, interpreters and educators, and volunteers. Every day we support communities by providing assistance to enhance access to parks, trails, rivers, and offer facilitation and partnership expertise and support to insure our diverse heritage and historic treasures.

Together, we play a key role in welcoming visitors to parks, connecting with our neighbors, engaging youth, and fostering the next generation of volunteer and philanthropic stewards to help the NPS preserve the history, lands and living things in parks and extending the benefits of parks into communities.

How we connect communities with parks:

  • Friends Groups/Partners
  • Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program
  • Youth
  • Urban Engagement
  • Interpretation and Education
  • Volunteers
