| David was born in 1836 in Rhode Island and made his home with his family in Scituate, Providence County, Rhode Island, David enlisted in 1861 and was serving with Rhode Island 1st Light Artillery, Battalion B when he was killed in action during the Battle of Gettysburg. It is unclear, but it is thought that David dies on the second or third day of the battle. He was survived by his wife Mary (married December 1860) and his son David 15 months old at the time of his death. |
