Close up of an 18th-century Revolutionary War era soldier's hands playing a large drum

4th of July

Fort Washington Park

Special Event
  • Jul 4, 2026 at 5:00 PM
  • Free

Join us for talks inside the fort, evening cannon fire at 8:30pm and an evening concert by the Federal City Brass Band playing period music from the Civil War.

The Historic Fort has a wonderful view overlooking the Potomac River and you might be able to get a glimpse of fireworks in Washington D.C.

The fireworks will not have a loud sound which may be a good option for small children and pets which starts around 9pm.
