From tiny marsh mice, to river otters, white-tailed deer, to 1,000 pound manatees, scientists have recorded dozens of mammals in Timucuan Preserve. They range from the frequently observed eastern gray squirrels, bottlenose dolphins, and nine-banded armadillos to the more elusive bobcats, and red fox. Mammals play roles in the food web both as grazers and predators.

Feral animals are included on the NPSpecies database you can access below. Loose cats, dogs, and feral hogs can spread diseases, damage songbird populations, and greatly impact the landscape.
