Come be an astronomer! Join the Rangers of Cedar Breaks under a sky of stars, planets, and nebulas. Experience a night of wonder and observe astronomical features through a telescope.

These programs will be conducted every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the North View Overlook, starting with solar viewing at 6:30pm, an astronomy talk at 8pm, and telescope viewing from 8:30pm until 10:30pm.

What to Wear

Be prepared to be outdoors. Dress for incredibly cold nights, usually below freezing. Our Rangers recommend warm winter coats, pants, shoes, gloves, and hats.

What to Bring

Embrace the winter season! Feel free to bring along a blanket and some snacks to make the experience cozy.

Thinking about packing a flashlights? White light interferes with our view of the night sky. Should you bring a flashlight, please ensure it has a red-light function to be used exclusively. Also, please refrain from using flash photography and leaving vehicle headlights on for longer than necessary.

Secure Your Spot

Tours are free of charge; however, as a federal fee area, all individuals over the age of 16 require an entrance pass to Cedar Breaks. Interagency Annual or America the Beautiful passes waive the entry fee of all individuals traveling together in one vehicle.
