Seawall Campground is located on the west side of Mount Desert Island, about 4 miles (6 km) south of Southwest Harbor on Maine Route 102A.

• Reservations are available two months in advance on this page and at recreation.gov

• Camping Fees (paid at time of reservation, not at the campground)

  • Walk-in tent sites: $22

  • Drive-up tent, camper, and motor home sites: $30

  • Group tent sites: $60

Campground FAQs

1. I have not made a reservation. Are there any campsites available for tonight?
   There are no same day reservations and no campsites are available for request upon arrival. All campsite reservations must be made in advance on Recreation.gov.

2. Are there any campsites available on ______ (a future date)?
   Campsite availability is shown on each campground's Recreation.gov page. On the Campsite List tab, enter your preferred dates and click on Availability Grid.

3. How far do I have to walk if I reserve a walk-to site?
   The walk-to sites are anywhere from 10 to 300 feet from the parking area. The distance to each site is listed in the site description. Wheelbarrows are available to help transport camping gear from your vehicle to your site.

4. Does Seawall Campground have showers?
   No. Showers are available from private vendors that are within a short drive from the campground. You can request this information when you check into your campsite.

5. We will be arriving late. Is there anything we need to do?
   Arriving after hours? Your name and site number will be posted at the ranger station. You must check in at the ranger station before 10:00am on the day after your scheduled arrival date. If you cannot check in by that time, you must call [phone] or you will be marked a No Show and incur fees.

6. How many ______ can I have on the campsite?
   People: A maximum of six people are allowed on the site.
   Tents: Two tents are allowed if all camping equipment will fit on the gravel portion of the campsite.
   Vehicles: Only one vehicle is allowed at the campsite. Overflow parking is available at the campground for extra vehicles.
