Notes: On September 18 in the year of the Lord 1822 I, Friar Francisco Solano García, Homilist Apostolic Minister of this mission of Santiago de Cocóspera, solemnly baptized a baby boy who was born on the 16th of the same month and year, whom I gave the name of Cornelio. He is the legitimate son of José Antonio Peña and Victoria Anzar, children of this village. His godparents were José Antonio Martinez and Margarita Martinez, also children of this village, whom I advised of their spiritual relationship and other obligations, and for which truth I signed as above. Fr. Francisco Solano García

On April 2 in the year of the Lord 1826, Cornelio, who was about four years of age, returned his soul to the Creator. He was the son of José Antonio Peña and Victoria Anzar, Pimas of this village. His body was buried the next day in the cemetery of this church of Santiago de Cocóspera, for which truth I signed on April 18th because I was not able to record it on the corresponding day or in the proper place, which is number three. Fr. Francisco Solano García (Note: Cornelio was the third child to die at Cocóspera that year. His older sister, María Guadalupe, was number four, and his twin brother, Cipriano, was number eight. Seven of the eight (number one died in January) died in two weeks between April 2 and April 16, but Father Solano García does not indicate what the particular plague was)
