Notes: On July 7 [1848] burial was provided for fifteen bodies of soldiers and residents of Tucson who were killed by the barbaric Apaches on May 9th at Agua de las Mesteñas (Whetstone Mountains). The commander of this company, Saturnino Limón, with a group of soldiers and residents of this presidio went to collect the bodies at the said place where they were killed. The aforementioned commander buried them in the cemetery.
