Notes: Padre Saravia was tall, thin faced, and had black hair and blue eys. He was born about 1763 at Pala de Leña, twenty miles south of Oviedo. He sailed with the smaller, first wave of the Mission of 1789 aboard the frigate San Juan Nepomuceno. At the College of Querétaro he completely lost his voice and was unable to practice the ministry. He was recovered enough to set out for the missions in 1802. He started at Caborca with Padre Sánchez and was at Tumacácori in February of 1804. He did not last there, however, and in mid-June of that year he transferred to Sáric where he died of a sudden seizure, unable to receive the viaticum.
