He came first to Ures and then to Tumacácori in mid-June of 1824 and stayed six months. By 1829 he was at Oquitoa and Tubutama and was one of only four missionaries serving in the Pimería Alta. Padre Peréz Llera was at San Ignacio, Padre Rafael Díaz was at Cocóspera, and Padre Faustino Gonzalez was very ill and at Caborca.
