Hamilton Grange Study

This room was once the informal study of Alexander Hamilton at The Grange. Hamilton's study was furnished with a desk, book shelves, and many books during his occupation at The Grange, even though Hamilton had a busy law practice and office space downtown.

One prominent feature in this room is the bold green paint color. During renovation and restoration efforts, green paint was found as the base coat on the walls, suggesting that this green color was present during Hamilton's time. During these renovations, historians also found evidence for wall-hung bookshelves. Family knowledge also

In the original orientation of the house, Hamilton's study looked out over the grove of 13 sweet gum trees that were planted alongside the house.
