Archeology Testing
Archeologists from the National Park Service regional office were on site from August 13 - 20 to dig test pits in the areas where there will be site work disturbance. Five test pits were dug in the vicinity where the new septic tanks will be installed and along the new storm drainpipe manholes. The archeology team did not find anything significant and most likely only archeological monitoring will be required (versus more sieving and testing) when the project utility work begins.

Sifting through the soil from the test pits did not yield any items that would excite Indiana Jones. A historic pull tab from a soda can was, however, found.
