In Fall 2019, the National Park Foundation rolled out new ads in San Francisco and New York for the Find Your Park campaign. From September 23 through October 28, a series of digital and static outdoor ads appeared in bus shelters, billboards, and other spaces in the city of New York and San Francisco.

A modern twist on the iconic WPA posters of national parks, the ads encouraged people to visit nearby places that they might not know are national parks. The parks featured included:

New York:

  • Federal Hall National Monument
  • Gateway National Recreation Area
  • Governor’s Island National Monument

San Francisco:

  • Golden Gate National Recreation Area
  • San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park
  • John Muir National Historic Site

The ads also included the Find Your Park and National Park Foundation logos along with the National Park Service’s Secondary Mark. NPF developed the ads in cooperation with the Office of Partnerships & Philanthropic Stewardship, the Office of Communications, and park staff. After learning some lessons from this initial effort, the Foundation will explore opportunities to expand the campaign to parks in other urban areas in late 2019 and early 2020.
