Join Big South Fork National River & Recreation on Friday, October 18, 2024 to experience the 14th annual Blue Heron Ghost Mine. Hear chilling tales spun from the hills and hollows of the Cumberland Plateau. Experience the beauty of Kentucky, and the solitude of Blue Heron Mine-18 as you are entertained by talented local storytellers.

Event Schedule:

6:00 PM (ET): Junior Ranger Activities & Living History Demonstrations
6:00 PM: Music by C.S. Young
7:00 PM: Music by David Howard
8:00 PM: Storytellers spin spooky tales.

Getting There (2 options):

•Ride the Big South Fork Scenic Railway Train (Train tickets can be purchased from the Big South Fork Scenic Railway, headquartered in Stearns, KY)

•Drive to the Heron Outdoor Museum located at 8249 Mine 18 Road, Strunk, KY

C.S. Young

A multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter performing instrumental and original material. C.S. Young performs as a solo act citing performances ranging from “the stage to the street”, and often includes the help of special guests as part of his performance. Drawing inspiration from Americana, folk, Celtic, and ethnic/world music, C.S. Young willingly creates an atmosphere beckoning the listener on a musical journey.

 

David Howard

David Howard

David Howard has been a fixture in music around East Tennessee and the surrounding states since 1975. He has been featured in many country, rock and bluegrass bands over the years. He also has a successful sound company having done sound for many major artists. He spends most of his retirement years doing smaller sound jobs and playing with multiple country, folk and solo 70’s folk music.
