CampingBlack Canyon National Park has two campgrounds - one on either rim. East Portal Campground, within the canyon by the river, is accessed through the park but within the boundary of Curecanti National Recreation Area. Backcountry camping within the inner canyon Wilderness is also allowed, but Wilderness Use Permits are required. Camping outside the parkCamping may be available in private campgrounds or on other public lands nearby. Lodging and DiningThere are no restaurants or lodges in Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The nearest restaurants and hotels are in Montrose, CO, or Gunnison, CO. Western National Parks Association sells some hiking snacks in the bookstore at the South Rim Visitor Center. Lodging outside the parkLodging is available in nearby communities. Help protect park wildlife by not feeding animals or leaving food scraps behind. No fire grates are available at picnic areas.
