Whales on the Horizon

December 29, 2016 Posted by: Alex Warneke
Thar’ she blows! The first whales of the season have been spotted off the shores of Point Loma. Throughout the winter months the Pacific Gray Whales are regularly seen from the cliffs of Cabrillo as they make their 10,000 mile migration from the cold, food rich waters of the Bering Sea to the warmer birthing grounds of Baja.

To assist park guests in their whale finding endeavors, we created these fun guides for you to print off and bring with you to the park! We also hope that you will join us for a Ranger-led Whale experience on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 12:00-1:30 pm in the Cabrillo Visitor’s Center. The Cetacean Society will also be at the park to answer any questions you might have.

Welcome to the Whale Days of Winter!
