Exploring Cabrillo’s Past: Educational Historical Programs

Explore the rich history and cultural significance of Cabrillo National Monument through our engaging historical programs. Students will learn about the 1542 voyage of European explorer Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo and the impact of his journey on the region. Our programs bring history to life with interactive activities and stories that connect students to the past.

Reservation Information

Reservations have been filled for the remainder of this academic year. You still have the option to request a Self-Guided educational visit from the website under Self-Guided Field Trips.

Reservations will re-open 1 September 2026 for the 2026 - 2027 academic year.

Program Availability:

  • Historical programs are offered on Mondays-Thursdays ONLY.
  • There are two time slots available each day:
    • 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
    • 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM

Reservation Requirements:

  • Reservations are required to participate in these programs. To ensure an organized visit, please complete the online Education Reservation Inquiry Form.
  • Our knowledgeable rangers and enthusiastic docents are ready to provide a tailored, enriching experience that meets the needs of your group.
