Little Rock Central High School NHS, in partnership with Say It Loud! Readers and Writers, invites the community to a special event titled “Mobilizing and Energizing Parental Engagement” on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM CST at Allison Memorial Presbyterian Church (922 Wright Ave, Little Rock).

As part of the ongoing Freedom and Heritage Literary Series, this empowering evening will feature Dr. Janice Johnson-Dias, professor, founder of the GrassROOTS Community Foundation, and author of Parent Like It Matters: How to Raise Joyful, Change-Making Girls. Dr. Johnson-Dias will inspire attendees with insights on raising purposeful and resilient children while energizing the parental role in community engagement.

The event promises a vibrant mix of inspiration, learning, and celebration, providing a platform for parents and the community to engage in meaningful dialogue and initiatives.

The ongoing Freedom and Heritage Literary Series explores how education fosters social literacy, cultural understanding, and impactful communication. By embracing diverse voices, the program aims to expand perspectives and create opportunities for exploration and growth. This is a chance to engage with history, learn from past movements, and empower the next generation to continue the fight for social justice.

This program is part of the Say It Loud! Readers and Writers Freedom and Heritage Literary Series, sponsored by the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site with support from the City of Little Rock Office of Community Programs.

Come for an evening of empowerment and education as the community works together to foster strong and supportive environments for the next generation.
