Overview:
Organized at Camp Butler, Ill., and mustered in for 100 days June 18, 1864. Moved to Cairo, Ill., thence to Memphis, Tenn., June 18-22. Attached to 3rd Brigade, Memphis, Tenn., District of West Tennessee. March from Memphis to Wolf River and guard R.R. by detachments between Wolf River and Holly Springs, Miss., till August. Action at LaFayette June 26 and August 8. Moved to Memphis, Tenn., and Post duty there till October. Repulse of Forrest's attack on Memphis August 21. Near Memphis August 25. Ordered to Camp Fry, Chicago, Ill. Mustered out October 29, 1864. (Volunteered for the defence of Missouri during Price's Invasion.)

Regiment lost during service 5 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 24 Enlisted men by disease. Total 29.
