Little Crow

Bio:
Little Crow was born in 1810 in the Mdewakanton Santee Sioux village of Kaposia. After members of his tribe became involved in heavy conflict with the local white population, Little Crow led warriors into a raid on the local agency at Redwood in August 1861. He also led the attack on the village of New Ulm, Minnesota, succeeding in burning most of the town. On the morning of September 23, 1861, the Dakota warriors were attacked and were driven back by General Henry Sibley'³ skirmishers, most of whom were Civil War veterans.
