Willich, August

- At the Battle of Rowlett's Station in December 1861, as colonel of the 32nd Indiana Volunteer Infantry, Willich commanded the defense of the Union supply line. Although forced to withdraw to gain a stronger position, he successfully defended the Union hold on the Louisville & Nashville Railroad.
