So check your gutter and downspout connections monthly. Inspect frequently. Then, at a minimum, clean them at least twice a year--late Spring and late Fall. This may vary depending upon the number of trees you have in your yard, or next door. The recommended approach is to clean them as often as it takes in order to keep the gutters clear. You want the rain to be able to flow freely from the roof into the gutters, drop through the downspouts, and be carried safely away from your foundation walls through appropriate grading!
