Fire Management staff at Denali National Park and Preserve will conduct a prescribed burn of the slash piles in the vicinity of the Denali Post Office near the entrance of the Park Road between October 11 and November 10, 2023. Burning operations will take place within a specified and appropriate window, monitored by Fire Management staff who will check and monitor all piles until fully extinguished.
Smoke is likely to be present along the Park Road and the Parks Highway. Smoke does not need to be reported unless visibility is a hazard for motorists. All local emergency response teams are aware of the planned prescribed fire operations.
Please contact the Acting Fire Management Officer at 907-683-9549 for more information.
