In honor of our Kennel's 100th year of operation in 2022, the names for these dogs came from some of the first dogs purchased for use in the park in 1922.
NPS Photo / Lida Wise Bos'nBorn: June 18th, 2022(Pronounced "Bō-son", a deck boss on a ship). Bos'n captivates people with his golden eyes and beautiful glossy coat. You can find him looking for attention from visitors in all seasons. 
NPS Photo/Lida Wise Mike (m)Born: June 18th, 2022Still to be determined why, our kennel has a long history of dogs named "Mike', all the way back to the first dogs purchased in 1922. Mike loves to play and wrestle with anyone that will tolerate his exuberant energy. 
NPS Photo / Lida Wise Skipper (f)Born: June 18th, 2022Skipper may be smaller than her brothers, but she has proven to be more clever than them. She's very fiesty and keeps her brothers in line. Kennels staff affectionally call Skipper their shadow - she follows them wherever they go! |
