Drop in at anytime to explore the night sky through telescopes directed at different planets, stars and more!
Ranger guided constellation tours on the half hour.
7:00 PM - 10:00 PM, Furnace Creek Airport

  • 7:30 PM: Discover the Night Sky; Join a ranger for a laser-guided constellation tour where they will orient visitors to visible objects in the night sky.
  • 8:30 PM: Poetry Under the Stars ; Join New Mexico Poet Laureat Lauren Camp as she shares poems connecting us to the stars and skies. Including poems for her latest book, In Old Sky, inspired by her time as an Astronomer-in-Residence at Grand Canyon National Park. This will be followed by a short ranger led constellation talk.
  • 9:30 PM: Discover the Night Sky; Join a ranger for a laser-guided constellation tour where they will orient visitors to visible objects in the night sky.

Caltech Presents: Astronomy on Tap
Cameron Hummels and Various (California Institute of Technology)
Join Caltech scientists for a fun evening, featuring two 20-minute public astronomy talks, stargazing with telescopes, and space-themed pub trivia (with prizes) over food and drinks at the Badwater Saloon! We'll hear from Emily Silich giving a talk entitled: "Galaxy Clusters Collide: The Most Energetic Events since the Big Bang", and Mike Kelzenberg presenting on "Can We Send Spacecraft to Exoplanets?".
