They are scheduled to re-open in June 2012: 001-050 241-290 291-340 531-580 Before you visit us, you can find out if the name you are looking for is on any of these panels by going to the following website: DECEMBER 2011 The sections of the Wall of Honor listed below as CLOSED remain open as of early December. However, they could be closed off at any time, when repair work re-commences on Ellis Island's seawall. We will update this page as soon as any changes occur. ![]() SEPTEMBER 2011 As we mentioned earlier this year, sections of the Immigrant Wall of Honor would close again after the summer. Well, the summer is coming to an end; as a result, the following panels of the Wall are scheduled to close on September 1, 2011: 001-050 241-290 291-340 531-580 These closures are scheduled to continue until June 2012. You can find out if the name you are looking for on the Wall is on any of these panels by going to the following website: JUNE 2011 The Immigrant Wall of Honor is OPEN!! A portion of the Wall will close again in August to accommodate work for the "Peopling of America" exhibit, but for the summer, the entire Wall is accessible. Due to major repair work to Ellis Island's seawall, and other projects, some portions of the Immigrant Wall of Honor are closed to the public. OCTOBER-NOVEMBER 2010 Work is getting underway to make extensive repairs to Ellis Island's seawall. Some of it will have an effect on your visit. Due to the seawall's proximity, portions of the Immigrant Wall of Honor will be closed off (see details below).
![]() SEPTEMBER 2010 The repairs to the roof of the Main Building are just about complete, but other projects are beginning that require the closure of certain portions of the Immigrant Wall of Honor on Ellis Island. These areas will likely remain closed until the Spring of 2011. The closures are necessary for visitor safety because they are within dangerous, highly active construction zones.
