SHARK VALLEY, Florida: Looking for a new event for the New Year? Come to Shark Valley and joinRobertChaplin, fine art and nature photographer and birder, along with a park ranger for a few mile hike down the L67 canal. Bring your camera and learn of great places to take a photo in this area of Everglades National Park. Learn about the birds that inhabit or migrate to south Florida as well. The walk will last approximately an hour. Please call the visitor center at (305) 221-8776 to make a reservation. (Because it includes a car caravan, the event will be limited to 10 cars.) For your safety, visitors are encouraged to consider personal comfort needs and bring water, sunscreen, and appropriate footwear. After the bird walk,RobertChaplin’s and other books will be available at the Shark Valley Bookstore. WHAT: Shark Valley is hosting a Bird Walk with fine art and nature photographerRobertChaplin. Please call the visitor center at (305) 221-8776 to make a reservation. (Because it includes a car caravan, the event will be limited to 10 cars.) WHEN: Tuesday, January 5, meet at 8:45 a.m. at the Shark Valley gate. The event will last approximately 1 hour from start to finish. WHERE: Meet outside the gate at Shark Valley and drive to the L67 canal parking lot, approximately 5 miles away (car caravan style). The Shark Valley Visitor Center is located on U.S. Highway 41 (Tamiami Trail) between Miami and Naples, about 25 miles west of the Florida Turnpike in Miami.
