Join a geologist for an adventure to Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, and Red Rock Open Space on Saturday, June 27 from 9am – 5pm. Discover an amazing underground world and learn the story of Colorado’s mysterious disappearing mountain range. Sponsored by the Friends of Florissant. Fee is $50. Teacher credit available. Registration required. Call 719-748-3253. This field experience, designed for everyone, will explore the geology of Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, and Red Rock Open Space. Entering an amazing world underground, we will discover the origins of different types of cave formations. At the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center we will watch the movie “How Did Those Red Rocks Get There?” Lunch will be provided at the “Café at the Garden.” After lunch we will explore a magnificent red rock landscape.
