Fort Bowie Visitor Center & Park Store

The Visitor Center houses a collection of historic artifacts that have been found at the site, as well as historic items acquired for the exhibits. These items include cultural items from Indigenous people that lived in this area, as well as military artifacts from the fort's operation.

The Visitor Center can be accessed by hiking a 1.5 trail from the trailhead at Apache Pass Road. Along that trail, displays and exhibits convey information about the history of the region. There are also cultural, natural, and historic resources to see along that hike including; the Fort Bowie Post Cemetery, the ruins of the Apache Pass Butterfield Overland Stage Station, Apache Spring, and the battle site of the 1862 Battle of Apache Pass.

History books and local guides are available through the Western National Parks Association bookstore in the visitor center. Gift items are also available.
