Friends of Fort Davis NHS
The Friends of Fort Davis National Historic Site was established in 1983 as a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization. Its purpose is to support those activities approved by the National Park Service for which congressional funds are not available. The scope of these activities includes preservation, restoration, planning, research, educational and cultural programs.
National Park Service Fee Program
In 2004, Congressinacted The Federal LandsRecreation Enhancement Act (FLREA).Manyof the National Park Service units, including Fort Davis National HistoricSite, can collect entrance fees or charge for special services or programsunder this authority . This is a vitalfunding source for the parks since managingpublic lands requires a major financial investment.Funds collected must be used for projectswith a "direct visitor connection" such as interpretive programs or media,visitor services&safety, and visitor-use facilities.

COOPERATING ASSOCIATION
A nonprofit cooperating association of the National Park Service. Headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, the association was founded in 1938 as the Southwest Monuments Association to support the interpretive activities of the National Park Service.
