250th Anniversary of the American Revolution Temporary Exhibit

 Farmington, PA- Beginning June 14, Fort Necessity National Battlefield will host a temporary exhibition, the American Revolution Experience, a collaborative project of the American Battlefield Trust and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). The exhibit highlights the experiences of ordinary Americans and the choices they made leading up to and including the Revolutionary War. The temporary exhibit will travel across the country utilizing twelve panels highlighting individual stories and three interactive kiosks for visitors to explore and understand the importance of the Revolution for Americans today.  

"We are excited to have the partnership with our local Daughters of the American Revolution chapter and the American Battlefield Trust in sharing this exhibit," stated Fort Necessity National Battlefield site manager Brian Reedy. “As we prepare for America 250th commemoration we need to remember the roots of rebellion begin with the French & Indian War and a young George Washington at Fort Necessity."

The exhibit will run through July 7, 2024, and will be displayed in the battlefield ’s visitor center. The visitor center at Fort Necessity National Battlefield is free to the public and open daily from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. While the exhibit is displayed, the 270th observance of the battle at Fort Necessity will be remembered on July 3 and July 4, 2024.
