SAVANNAH, GA - Fort Pulaski National Monument will reopen Tuesday October 1 2024 following Hurricane Helene. Park staff completed an assessment of the park’s facilities and resources on Friday September 27 and found minimal damage, but an extended utilities outage across the park resulted in a multi-day closure. The national monument closed on Wednesday September 25 in anticipation of impacts from the Hurricane.

Fort Pulaski National Monument will resume standard operations and public visiting hours on Tuesday October 1, 2024, at 9:00 AM. Please use caution when exploring park trails as debris removal from the storm is still ongoing. Remember also to mark your calendars for Fort Pulaski’s Centennial Celebration, “One Hundred Years of Fortitude,” on October 12-13, 2024. A full event schedule is available on our website (www.nps.gov/fopu).

Fort Pulaski National Monument is located on U.S. Highway 80, 15 miles east of Savannah.
