Historic Weapons Demonstration

Rifle and musket firing demonstrations occur at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m and 3:30 p.m.

Ranger Talks

Interpretive presentations occur at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.

National Park Week: April 2025

National Park Week is an annual presidentially proclaimed celebration to encourage people to discover places, programs, experiences, and stories of the NPS. The first National Park Week occurred in 1991 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the NPS. The next National Park Week was held in 1994 and it has been an annual event ever since.

Historic Weapons Demonstrations


Rifle, musket, and cannon firing demonstrations are provided at three different times during the day.
  • Rifle and musket firing demonstrations occur at 10:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m and 3:30 p.m.
  • Cannon firing demonstrations occur at 11:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m and 4:00 p.m.

Presentations by Living Historians

Interpretive programs will be presented at two different times during the day.
  • Patriot programs occur at 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
  • British programs occur at 11:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Park Talks: Starting July 2025

Park rangers will present talks on a variety of topics at the Wando-Mt. Pleasant and Poe (Sullivan's Island) Libraries throughout the year.

Speakers will present topics at Fort Moultrie on a variety of topics throughout the year.

National Public Lands Day: September 2025

National Public Lands Day is organized annually and led by the National Environmental Education Foundation, in partnership with the National Park Service and other federal agencies. Hundreds of thousands of volunteers roll up their sleeves to help restore and preserve public lands of all types and sizes—from iconic national parks and rivers to local urban green spaces and everything in between. National Public Lands Day is special because it provides all lovers of the environment—old and new—an opportunity to show our appreciation for these unique places.
