Celebrate Fourth at the Fort

Join Gateway staff, Staten Island OutLOUD and the Staten Island Philharmonic to celebrate Independence Day at the Overlook at Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island. OutLOUD will present a group reading of the Declaration of Independence at 1 p.m., followed by an afternoon performance by the Staten Island Philharmonic at 2 p.m.

There will also be tours of Fort Tompkins, games for kids of all ages, and a great view of the harbor and NYC skyline. We hope that you can join us for this fun-filled day.


The Staten Island Philharmonic provides professional performances of the best in classical and contemporary music.

Staten Island OutLOUD is a community reading, dialogue and performance project. They host a continuing series of grass-roots readings of world classics and other compelling works.
