Reconstructed in 1931, the Washington Family Burial Ground is the final resting place for multiple generations of George Washington's family who lived here during the 1600s and 1700s. Inside of the cemetary walls, there are five grave markers that are visually similar to chest tombs that have inscribed gravestone information on their top surface. Furthest away from the entrance are two gravestones that are level with the ground. The family tree below showcases members of the Washington Family, some of whom are interred in this burial ground. 

When exploring the Burial Ground, please be respectful. Do not crawl, sit, or stand on top of the grave markers.

Outside the burial ground are interpretive signs that provide information on John and Anne Washington's Bridges Creek home, and of past restoration and preservation efforts at the burial ground. For more information, please read our article on the history of the Washington Family Burial Ground.

• The parking lot for the Burial Ground is across the street. You will have to park and walk to the location. 
• Please be mindful of cars as you cross the crosswalk.

• There is one accessible parking spot. 
• The parking lot is paved.
• The path leading up to the entrance of the Burial Ground is mostly flat, covered in gravel. 
• The area inside the Burial Ground is mostly flat grass.
• There are no restrooms.
• There is no water fountain.
