Dogs In the Military

Soldiers with Mascot

Just how are dogs the best friends of people? They are loyal, they hear better, listen better, and pay attention better. It makes complete sense that becuase of this they would make way better soldiers than people.
Whether a mascot or a trained member of the regiment, Uncle Sam needed these dogs. The official use of dogs for military purpose didnt happen until world war two, but they appear in photos much earlier. This leads us to question if people were willing to face punishment just to let their dog stay, or if the dog didn't care taht they weren't allowed to stay? Either way they are very photogenic and its always fun to find them in pictures.
