We are excited to announce the development of an online CUA system designed to standardize, modernize, and streamline the CUA application and reporting process for NPS staff and applicants. PHASE 1 - We began accepting CUA applications through the online system in some parks starting on December 1, 2023, for the 2024 CUA season. PHASE 2 - All parks will be using the system by the 2025 CUA season and will implement a standard CUA application fee. *The link to the application will be placed here when it is made available For the first application submitted during a CUA season, the applicant will pay a $350 application fee. That same applicant will pay a $250 application fee for each subsequent application submitted to the same NPS unit during the same CUA season. These standard application fees will be reviewed every two years and may be adjusted to ensure the NPS is collecting the full cost of receiving and processing the application, as required by federal law. CUA management fees will continue to be collected through the system and assessed at the unit level. There are no plans to standardize CUA management fees. Fee-based activities are prohibited within George Washington Memorial Parkway unless a concessions contract or commercial use authorization (CUA) has been granted under 36 CFR Section 5.3.
