Group Visits - Once You Arrive

We want your group's visit to Hampton to be as enjoyable as possible. On this page you will find helpful instructions and tips to maximize your experience at Hampton.

Check-In & Departure

Upon your arrival, the group leader should check in at the Visitor Contact Station. This will allow the staff to know that your group is on site. You can also pick up helpful information such as maps, brochures, and Junior Ranger activity books that will help you navigate the site and enhance your visit.

Groups are responsible for establishing their arrival and departure times, as well as group meeting points. Many groups begin and end their visit at the Visitor Contact Station.

Parking

Free parking is available at Hampton. There are three parking lots on site: the main lot (located next to the visitor contact station), farm lot (behind the mule barn on the lower farm), and the upper lot (next to the mansion). Parking is available on a first come, first served basis. All parkig areas are ADA accessible.

Bus Parking

Buses may only park in designated spots in the main and lower farm parking lots. Buses may drop visitors off closer to the mansion by unloading in the upper lot and parking in the main lot. There is no satelite parking for buses.

Safety

All visitors are encourage to review the park's safety guidelines, as well as the park's laws and policies to ensure a safe visit.

Please review our pets policies if anyone in your group is planning on bringing a pet to the park.

Children under 16 years of age must be accompanid by an adult at all times.

Groups are advised to review weather conditions on the day of their visit and to dress accordingly. Most of Hampton is accessible by walking outdoors. Visitors are encouraged to bring individual water bottles as to properly hydrate during their visit.

Visiting the Park

The majority of Hampton can be visited at your own pace, without a guide. Groups are encouraged to take advantage of all that Hampton has to offer and explore all aspects of the site during their visit.

Informational wayside exhibits are located throughout the park to offer more information about the site and its features. Park rangers are also happy to answer any questions that your group may have.

Picnicking

Groups are welcome to bring their own picnics to the park. There are two designated picnic areas in the park - near the main parking lot and on the Lower Farm. Picnicking in other areas of the park is not allowed in order to preserve the park's landscape.

Visitors are responsible for disposing of their own trash. Garbage cans are located near the park's three parking areas. Large groups are encouraged to bring their own bags and to consider packing their own garbage to take with them for off-site disposal. This helps the staff at Hampton better maintain the park and limits the possibility of litter being left behind.

There are no food services or vending machines on site. A water bottle refill station is available at the Visitor Contact Station.
