INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: In celebration of Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore’s 50th anniversary, join famed dunes photographer David Larson for his program, “50 Years of Photography in the Indiana Dunes.” On Saturday, April 16, join David for a presentation of his finest works and the stories behind them. Larson’s photographs capture the changing nature of the landscape through the years and include dunes like Howling Hill that are now just memories. The evening kicks off at5:30 pmin the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center with a reception hosted by the Dunes Learning Center, celebrating the opening of a special exhibition of Larson’s photography. At6:00 pm, David will present an hour-long program that features not only his stunning photos of Indiana Dunes, but the early Duneland history behind the images. David has contributed both photography and graphic design to the national lakeshore. His work has appeared in both the 2006 and 2007 Indiana Dunes calendars and the 40th Anniversary Commemorative Poster, as well as in a number of publications featuring Indiana Dunes. His photos will remain on display at the visitor center throughout the summer as part of the national lakeshore’s 50th anniversary celebration. The exhibit and reception are presented in partnership with the Dunes Learning Center.
