Parents and toddlers are invited to participate in the “Nature Tots” program on November 9, from 10:00 am – noon at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore’s Douglas Center for Environmental Education. The program is led by a park ranger and is designed for children ages 2-4. Kids can make a free craft and gather to hear some nature stories. A ranger-led hike and some time in the adjacent nature play zone will be part of the two-hour program. Parents will enjoy meeting other parents and learning fun ideas for bringing nature into their child’s life. Pre-register by calling (219) 395-1821. The Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education is located in the western portion of the national lakeshore at 100 North Lake Street, about one mile north of U.S. Highway 12 in the Miller section of Gary. For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, call 219-395-1821 or check the park’s website at www.nps.gov/indu. |
