Join staff and fellow volunteers for a morning of stewardship on Saturday, November 18, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore’s Miller Woods. We will be working to maintain the globally rare black oak savannas by removing excess understory growth. Meet at the Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education. Wear comfortable clothes. All tools and protective equipment will be provided.
The Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education is located in the western portion of the national lakeshore at 100 North Lake Street, about one mile north of U.S. Highway 12 in the Miller neighborhood of Gary.
