INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL PARK: Enjoy a leisurely float in the Marquette Park lagoons with national park rangers to feel the late afternoon breeze off Lake Michigan. Indiana Dunes National Park will provide the kayaks, paddles and lifejackets; you just need to bring your sense of adventure.

These free paddles will take place from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Friday July 2, July 16 and August 6. Participants must register by calling the national park's Douglas Center at 219-395-1824. Children and youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult to participate.

Participants will meet at the kayak launch at Marquette Park in Gary. A small number of free parking spots are available near the accessible boat launch west of the Marquette Park Pavilion, and paid parking is available in the Marquette Park Beach parking lot.  The Marquette Park pavilion is located at 1 North Grand Blvd., Gary, Indiana, and the launch is 50 yards to the west.

For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Park, call 219-395-1824 or check the park’s website at www.nps.gov/indu.
