Joshua Tree National Park just made it easier and faster to get into the park. The park is now offering a free mobile app which will allow visitors to prepay entrance fees. The app can be downloaded from the app store by searching, “JTNP Fee Pay: Park Pass”. Visitors can use debit and credit cards, Pay Pal and other major digital wallet systems. The purchaser will receive a specific digital pass which is shown at the entrance stations at the park. Passes that can be purchased online include the 7-day Single Vehicle Pass ($25), the 7-day Individual Pass for motorcycle, bicycle or pedestrian ($12) and the Joshua Tree National Park Annual Pass ($40). Be prepared to show a photo ID and passes are non-transferable. The new app will be available on April 17, 2017 and is designed to streamline the park fee, purchase process and reduce time getting into the park. Joshua Tree National Park is only one of two parks, nationwide included in the pilot program and the park service is looking to offer the service at other parks around the country. |
