Knowledge is power. Please do your part to protect this special place. Regulations that apply to Katmai:

• The Code of Federal Regulations provides information about all national parks, national parks in Alaska, and specific to Katmai National Park.

Marijuana and Other Controlled Substances

Possession or use inside national parks is prohibited. While Alaska provides for regulated possession and use of marijuana, it remains an illegal drug under federal law and enforced within the park units.

Firearms

Generally speaking, Alaska State laws regulate firearms within the park. Learn more on the firearms page.
